Janet Pfeiffer Story
Born in South Australia, Janet has travelled extensively as a child of a RAF family including the UK and 4 years living in Cyprus.
As a self-taught mixed media artist she has been teaching creative art workshops for over 13 years. Janet has continued to follow her passion for art and well-being, training as a Creativity Coach, InterPlay Leader (Improvised Movement, Voice and Storytelling), Touch Drawing Facilitator and an Accredited Art Therapist.
Returning to the small town of Keyneton in the beautiful Barossa Valley after a number of years living in Sydney, NSW and Perth WA she now works from her purpose built studio at home.
As a visual artist, her art journey first began in watercolors, followed closely by acrylics which led her into the endless world of mixed media.
Janet says, “Recently I re-discovered my love of combining a wide range of readily available art materials, most of them already in my studio, to create a series of more than forty collages."

Janet aligns with Shaun McNiff in his book Trust the Process when he says, "The creative imagination requires a certain abandon and disregard for results, which often, paradoxically generates the most useful outcomes." He says, "The formative forces of chance and accident have to be given opportunity to shape our expressions."
What most excites her in the art-making process is playful abandon, and the creativity that emerges from following her artistic impulses and experimentation with a wide variety of mixed media.
